Scott Crowder, PHD

Scott Crowder is currently Vice President, IBM Quantum Adoption. He leads the commercialization effort for quantum computing and IBM Quantum’s efforts to create the global diverse and skilled workforce required to unlock the potential of quantum computing. Prior to his current role, Scott served as the Chief Technical Officer for IBM Systems and as the Vice President of Technical Strategy in IBM Corporate Strategy. Scott helped define the cross-IBM technical strategy for cloud infrastructure, Big Data and Analytics, composable services, and software-defined infrastructure. Earlier in his career, Scott was the lead engineer on the industry's first logic-based embedded DRAM technology before serving in a variety of executive management roles within global cross-cultural alliances for semiconductor process development. Scott received A.B./Sc.B. degrees in Electrical Engineering and International Relations from Brown University and a M.A. in Economics and M.Sc./Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
